Get rid of Blank buttons on the Taskbar

When our Win98 workstations come out of screensaver, a blank button stays on the taskbar until you click on the button and it disappears. Not a big deal, until some of our users have 40-50 blank buttons. Then some of the running apps are buried halfa monitor screen length down. It is quite confusing to the users, they can’t find their running programs or they end up launching the same app multible times. I have seen this with NT Workstation also. Thanks for a solution.
