Getting “Network Disconnected” messages

After upgrading my Dell Latitude Laptop from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000, I started to get “Network Disconnected” messages. When this occurs, whatever I am running stops for 15 seconds or so, then continues normally. I suspect the network driver, but haven’t been able to find a better driver. Any ideas?
