got on VPN but can’t see any HD/printers

Hello, I am trying to connect a Win98se client too a vpn on a win2k Adv. server over the Internet(linksys router on each end with the pptp 1723 port open for ip and udp on the server side). I can conect, and see that there is a network there. But I can not access any resources on any of the machines on the network, including the server.
