GPO

I am assigning a software deployment of MS Office 2000 to a computer through a GPO. When I login to the pc that should have recieved the GPO and goto Start,Programs, there are no Office programs listed. When I view the event viewer it states the theMSI package was deployed. My question is “Do I have to assign a startup script to the pc to run prior to GPO for the Office deployment? Or does the mapping to the share on the server specified in the GPO occur behind the scenes automatically?
