Group policy creation NT V 2K0

I have been the network manager, for 5 years, of an NT4 network. I have been able to set up group profiles and policies without too much trouble, but now the new head of dept. Dr of Comp Sci. Has upgraded half of the network to win 2K0 advanced server. Trouble is that Policies and Profiles are not alike? I am having trouble creating both in win 2K0. Help how can I utilise my knowledge from NT4 to Win 2K0, so that I can easily use the same profiles etc on 2K0? Do I have to read Windows 2000 Server Bible from cover to cover as I did for NT4?
