Group Policy is not Implementing

Hi, I have 1 client system with windows 2000 professional with service pack 2 and another system with wind2k Server + active directory installed. Both computers are connected to each other witha cross cable. I went to “active directory users and computers” and expanded the console and right clicked on domain name and to “properties” and then went Group Policy…opened administrative templates…went to user settings…double clicked “desktop”…and enabled ….”hide all icons on desktop”….Nowthis policy is succefullly implemented when i logoff “administrator account” on Domain controller…but when i login from this administrator account from client computer ..the policy fails to implement…i tried with other accounts but policy is notimplemented.
