Hanging by a printer !!!

I’ve recently installed an HP Deskjet 1220 C printer, which I’m able to print from as long as I choose File > Print. if I want to preview or change the set-up of a page, margins etc.. the system just hangs. When I C + A + D, I get an error message sayiing the system is very low on resources. I have a Satelite PRO 4320, win 98 SE, 12 GB HDD(4 GB free) and 340 MB RAM. The problem is occuring in Excel and other office applications, I’ve installed on Service releases etc…

Any help would begreatfully received.
