Hard Drive Fails After Backup tools

I have 2 Hard drives, the master(C) has Windows 2000 Pro, the slave(F) has Windows ME, I started a Backup using the Backup Tool of Window 2000 pro,then the computer Shut Down itself, after that the Slave Hard Drive is not recognize in the Bios, during boot up I get a message saying:Primary Slave FAIL, I go to the Bios trying to set up manually cause the system does not recognize it anymore, Can you tell me what is wrong and How can I fixed it. Also, whe I was doing the Back up I selected ALL files Including the system data, I am not sure If I erase the partition or Master boot Record.
