Hard drive not detected after Reformatting

i formatted my hard drive with D.B.A.N with the DOD method [ 7 passes] and after it was complete i proceeded to install my Windows Xp Professional Back on it, but before i could it’s telling me that it can’t detect any primary drive, i already know it isn’t the Hard drive or jumped settings because about an hour ago i went out and bough a Brand New 160 GB hard drive thinking that MAYBE it was just my old hard drive was almost dead.. anybody have any suggestions?
