Hard Drives too Hot to Touch

My system is:
abit 7 mobo
512 DDR
G-Force 2 with 128
Two 60-gig WD hard drives(Zero striping RAID array)

While my sys temp is 50 degrees (C) and my CPU is 47.5 degrees (C), my hard drives are too hot to tuch. Is this normal behavior for RAID drives or do I need help?
