HARDWARE CONFLICT/IRQ SHARING

I am currently running Windows 98SE along with MS Office 2000 Pro. I recently installed a PCI USB card and have installed a PCI internal US Robotics modem. I have a HP scanner connected to the USB port. I receive error that scanner can’t be initiated and the modem says the port is open and can’t connect. My system has given the USB port and the modem port the same IRQ10 position.

I have tried to change the resource settings of the USB and modem but my system says that they can’t be changed.

Can you help me with this problem?
