I have Windows Professional installed. Last weekend I downloaded Windows update. A new dial up connection appeared in “Dial Up” so I uninstalled it. Now everytime I turn on the computer I get a message that “New Hardware is found” but when I attempt to install the driver, I receive a message “insert Manufacturers disk” but I don’t have one. The modem is a Motorola SM56 PCI Fax modem#15 V2.11.06D.5V MC 143450 RDK. Do I need to install this driver. My other dial up icon appears but is gray and not highlighted as it would normally look.
I would appreciate your help. I have so many problems with my computer because I live in a rural area and there is always something out of the ordinary happening with it. Although it seems that I should not have upgraded the windows update file.
