Have problem installing ATI video driver

I just configured two Compaq Proliant ML370 servers, already racked. any time I install the ATI 3D Rage IIC video driver in NT4, I receive an error message, “your new driver is in conflict with a control panel file (desk.pcl)” This causes NT to load16 color vga. The problem is the same for both servers. I downloaded some softpaqs and driver updates from compaq website, but the problem remains, I need help.
