Help! Error: EM disk DIsk I/O error

Hi

I have a Compaq Presario sr1220nx with no floppy drive

I was have problems with it restarting every 5 minutes, but found the power supply, hard drive and memory checked out ok.

I tried using the restore CD but it will not read it..

I formated the hard drive in hope, it would then read the restore CD and fix the machine. BUT I am getting an error message (em disk disk I/o error)

any ideas???
