All,
I (probably like many of you) use NetMeeting to remote into user desktops and provide support. However, I have found it somewhat unreliable in terms of its ability to make a connection.
Very often, I cannot connect to other people, even though I can ping their addresses, and their names show up in my ILS server. I?ll place the call, and after several minutes it will timeout, not having made a connection.
There does not seem to be any pattern to this. I will be able to connect to a particular person, but will not be able to connect to a someone sitting right next to them.
We use cloned Windows 98 machines, so all of the NetMeeting installations have a common configuration (security on for incoming and outgoing calls). Ournetwork consists of four offices all running NAT.
As you can see, OS, NetMeeting version and configuration, network information, and everything else is completely uniform. For the life of me, I cannot figure out what is going on.
Has anyone else experienced something similar?
Regards,
Joe
