[HELP] Reducing CPU usage in wmv compression

Hi,
can anybody tell me.. how can i reduce CPU usage while ecoding wmv files??!? wen i encode a video file, CPU usage goes to 80% or more…. which is certainly costly for me. i m using VideoCapX tool for capturing and encoding videos. Even if i compress using wmv sdk, CPU usage remains this high (70-80%).
is there any way to tackle this problem? or shud i use another encoding scheme (tht works with VideoCapX or any other controls available out there) like MPEG-2? Can i add subtitles or timestamps in MPEG-2 encoding like i m doing in wmv encoding??
