Help with VIA on board LAN card

by bluerhino_0 . Updated 23 years, 1 month ago

Unable to load LAN drivers properly with message “the NDIS.VXD, NTKERN.VXD device loaders for this device could not load the device
driver (code 2)”
I have had to upgrade to this motherboard due to failure of an ealier K7VMM VIA board. The hard drive was retained and the old motherboard drivers replaced with the new ones.
I have tried removing all the network adapters and rebooting and then replacing TCPIP and rebinding it to the dial-up adapter only, but
none of this makes any difference. I have downloaded the latest drivers from the Biostar website – no difference. Am using Win98
FIRST edition.
The machine uses a CELERON 2000 has 2 40GB hard drives, a DVD/CDR/RW
drive and a DVD ROM drive. All drives are working.
Am reluctant to upgrade from WIN98 as we have LOTUS SMARSUITE 97 business critical data on other machines on this LAN and upgrading
all four machines is bound to cause lots of headaches.
Has anybody out there got any ideas on this problem?
