Hexadecimal Boot Codes

by shantie . Updated 22 years, 3 months ago

Trying out a new Post Diagnostic Card. Motherboard is a new Jetway with a 1300 Duron CPU. does not boot. Diagnostic card has FF on hex display. In the book that came with the card this post code means handing over to operating system, but nothing happens, nothing on screen, tried different display cards and different ram also another hard drive. Okay, decided it might be CPU, so tried another two duron CPU’s, not sure if they work as taken from surged boards but the wiered thing is with these other two CPU’s is the different Hex code which was C1, in the book this relates to Bad SIMMS. It did say something about System memory not matching Bios, could the Cmos battery be at fault here?? I would like to understand these Hex codes a bit better as book very confusing. Why are the CPU’s showing different codes. Could it be that all CPU’s are bad and motherboard is actually okay. Confusing please help. thank you
