Home Directories or Redirecting MY DOCS?

by legj1 . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

I am unsure of which way to go here. I am an NT guy who was used to Home Directories and actually liked them. However, I will have an all Windows 2000 network and am unsure of redirecting MY DOCS. My one BIG argument is this: The default savelocation is MY DOCS. By adding a HOME Directory, I can instruct all users to save ONLY critical/business files to their Home Directory (not that they will listen all the time, but every little bit helps). Basically, I could save Disk space this way. I do not want to backup everything in MY DOCS. My stereotypical experience says that 50% of it is indeed CRAPOLA.

What is everyone else doing and why? Advantages and disadvantages? Any other ideas? Also, are most people synchronizing theMY DOCS to an OFFLINE folder after redirection? Thank you all!
