Home Drives

by cherrybuster . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

I just started working at a new place and I am having problems when I create new accounts.

The company I work for runs NT 4.0 Server SP5. The corporate office manages the “MAIN” Domain and that is the doamin all of my users log into. I have account operator access in that domain. On my “SITE” domain I have full domain admin rights. This is what happens…

There is a template in the “MAIN” domains user manager that I am suppose to copy when I create a new account. the Connect To: option was set to.

\\myserver\%username%$ I got the error with this, but found an article in the technet stating you cannot use any characters after %username%, so the next time I set it Connect To: as

\\myserver\doej$ and I still get the error.

It says the account information has been updated, but was unable to create the home drive, you must create it manually.

I’m logged on to the server with an account that has AO access in the MAIN domain, and Domain Admin rights in my SITE domain wherethe Home drives reside.

Why am I getting this error?

-??
