how can I remove wan miniport adaptors

Somehow I have managed to create corrupt Wan Miniport virtual adaptors which prevent me from using dial-up networking on my W2Kpro system but they cannot be uninstalled – the system says they are needed to boot up the computer. The device manager shows them as corrupt and I get PPP protocol errors when I try to dial up. How do I fix this???????
