how do I find product key code

The problem that have is the original case for my
Windows was accidentally destroyed and I lost the product key for windows. I need to reinstall Windows ME but I ineed the key code. I know there is a way to find it in the software but can’t remember how to do it. If anyone knows how to do this you help would be greatly appreciated
