I have a graphics department with three Macs (2 PowerMac G4s and a PowerMac G3). Each one runs Quark 4, Adobe Publishing Suite, and Outlook Express. They are constantly working on files ranging from 40MB – 60MB in size. I have two, possibly related issues. First, they keep getting out of memory errors even when only two programs are open. Currently they all have 320MB of RAM. How much RAM do you think they need? Second, they also seem to have a lot of problems with printing garbage print. Othermachines have no problems printing to the same printer. Do you think this would be because of memory problems in the Macs, or do I also need more memory in the printer.
The printer is an HP LaserJet 4050. It currently has 16MB RAM.
