How to automate product key in sysprep??

by todd_brodie . Updated 23 years, 11 months ago

We’re a mid-sized non profit that is about to begin a rollout of new PC’s running Windows 2000. One main problem I’ve come across is using the Sysprep v1.1 tool to automate the setup. We’re using Norton Ghost v7.5 with this as well. However, I can’t seem to automate the product key portion of the Mini-setup wizard. Everything else is fully automated. I’ve tried the following:

Under the [UserData] section of sysprep.inf, I’ve used the ProductID=”abc123″ where abc123 is either the actualproduct key. I’ve also tried it where abc123 is the product identification number. I’ve even tried it with ProductID=” abc12- abc12- abc12- abc12- abc12″ as it states in the Win2k unattended install instructions.

I’m at a loss on what to try next. I greatly appreciate the assistance!
