how to image pc’s from master image

There is one pc that is loaded and configured with win2k. We were asked if we could make an image of this pc’s hdd, then image other pc’s so they wouldn’t have to spend so much time configuring each pc. We were told by our IT Person that it can’t bedone because the SID needs to be changed on each pc and you need third party software, ie PowerQuest, to perform this task. Is this the only way this can be accomplished?
