How to install the 3rd Sata drive with PS that only has two SATA power plug

Help! I am pulling my hair out trying to install a 3rd Sata drive with PS that only has two SATA power plugs. The store that sold the 3rd drive to me gave me a normal powerplug to sata power connector adapter, but that does not work. I don’t think the power is the same, is it? My jumbo PS has two sata power connectors, and those have an orange lead unlike all the others that are the normal black red yellow. Using the adapter they gave me toasted one drive and the second one trips the MB protection circuit. How do you do this? I have an intel board (newer) with the s1-4 sata connections. Arg, thanks!
