How to keep IE from switching focus?

When I’m using MS Internet Explorer and have multiple windows open, the app switches focus from the page I’m looking at to another page whenever that page or an element on that page finishes loading. This is very annoying. Does anyone know a way to keep IE from switching focus to another window? There’s nothing in the Internet Options that addresses this. Thanks.
