I’m setting up backup for windows 2000 server using HP DLT drive. Everything is fine using one tape per day with the scheduler runing the backup at midnight. What I want to do is have some extra tapes on hand already labeled. But if I use any other tape other than the original one used I get the error that “The operation could not be performed because the specified media could not be found.” The extra tapes are labeled the same as the original (ie. Monday, Tuesday, etc. one per day) When I go to Computer Management, Removable Storage, Backup I can see the two tapes which are labeled the same. The only differance is the sequence#. How can I get backup to accept these tapes. I want to keep a set as a spare in case one of the original tapes goes bad I can simply use one of the spare tapes. Any ideas? It seems like there should be a simple way to do this but I haven’t found it. Any help would be appreciated.
