HP 8565C and my CD Drives aren’t working!!

I had my friend look at my computer to see what I could upgrade and stuff and he took out something from the motherboard and after he got finished and plugged everything in and the CD drives didn’t work anymore!! I just finished Reformatting my computer too! I tried switching the wires around but I have no clue what I’m doing! Does anyone know what wires go where or what might be wrong?
