ICS & NAT

by xyzxyz1 . Updated 23 years, 4 months ago

Q: Does the process of turning-on ICS (under WIN2000) provide Blanket-port NAT coverage to the entire PC (incl. NIC), or does it just cover modem Dial-up, as I suspect?

WE advocate the Presidents new Security guidelines, as outlined by CIS, whichnow stresses “multi-tiered” security, not just SERVER-Level Security. This being the case, we’ve turned-on ICS at every Workstation AND Server(s).
NOW: This is NOT the SOLE protection running, mind you, but simply intended as yet “another” level of protection to get thru. Fallacy in our Approach? Is the ICS doing us any good? Advice?

THANKS!

GUY!
