IDE to SATA converted DVD writer not recognized by BIOS

I am trying to connect my old Sony DRU 800A DVD writer whihc has an IDE interface to Dell E521 motherboard that has only SATA drive interfaces.

I tried all jumper settings on the DVD writer, still the BIOS does not recognize.

OS is Windows XP.

Can anyone help?
