IE 5/WIN 98 Problems

by gembury . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

Here’s scenario-

Small network/60 users/WIN95/98/2000
NT 4.0 Server/Single Domain
D Link Internet Access Modem (DP601M)
Bay Networks Router
Frame Relay Circuit to Remote Location

1 WIN98 workstation refuses to connect to the internet. I’vechecked/rechecked TCP/IP
configuration and find no problems.
TCP/IP is configured with a static IP address,
DNS server address of our Internet Provider,
Default gateway address of router and d-link modem. Machine navigates network fine, but IE
returns “Page not Found Error” messages.
I can ping anything on the network, but not the DNS server of IP. I’ve reinstalled WIN98SE, IE5, no success. Please help!
Other WIN 98 machines on network are configured identical and have no problems with internet or e mail.
Thanks

GTE
