IE 5.5

On the pulldown address bar in IE 5.5 Sp1 I have all the sites I visit on a daily basis. However once a week all of them disappear. They are of course in my history folder but not on the pulldown menu. It just goes blank and I have to start over again. After this happened a couple of times I changed the setting in my history to keep all items for a year and still no luck. This is probably something simple I have overlooked but it’s frustrating. My OS is Win95. Any suggestions much appreciated.
