IE 6 Downloads

by theav . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

I’ve just recently upgraded to Internet Explorer 6, and have noticed that something’s changed in the file download process. Prior to the upgrade, each time I downloaded a .zip file, a dialog box appeared that let me write the zip file to a folder of my choice. After the upgrade, it appears that IE 6 is opening the .zip file with WinZip, and my only choice is to extract the files, rather than save the .zip file as before. Is this a new standard feature of IE 6, or is there a way I can switch back to the old method? I’d rather save the .zip file while connected to the internet, and then later explore its contents, view the installation instructions, etc.
