IE 6 illegal operation when closed !

by cyberghost_1 . Updated 21 years, 9 months ago

Here’s the issue…9 out of 10 times when I close IE, either by clicking on the ‘X’ top-right corner or by right clicking>close when IE is Minimized. I get an Illigal Operation Error box, which states the following message: Page Fault in Module KERNEL32.dll at 0167:bff87ede. occasionaly a Page Fault in Module UNKNOWN at UNKNOWN is displayed. When I get the error in Kernel32.dll it always states the same numbers and info. Why is this? System: Win98SE, IE 6, with all updates. Please help, when this happens IE takes REALLY long to open again. I have to Restart to get IE to open up normally. If it matters, I also have Mozilla FireFox installed, but I never run both browsers at the same time. One other thing, I am missing Quikview.exe (C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\viewers\quikview.exe) Why? How can I recover it? ASAP !!! Thanx !!!!
I HAVE ALREADY TRIED REINSTALLING IE6 AND ALL UPDATES AND REPAIRING IE 6 FROM System Tools>System Information>Tools>Repair internet Explorer.
