IE cache

small problem in typing domain name, when typed as www.domainname.com, directed to an old page that no longer exist, when I type in domainname.com I am directed to the correct page.
how do I correct this? I am useing IE 6.0 on a winXp system. I have cleard the temp internet files thru cleandisk several times and still the same results
