IE Hangs

Every time I go into a ASP page to enter data like username & password, even doing a keyword search under the microsoft download page, my Internet explorer freezes. I made sure all the options under the Internet Options\advance tab are the same as a computer that doesn’t have the same problem.
I’m not sure what else I should do besides removing IE completely and reinstalling it, which might be a waste of time if the problem lies somewhere else.
Help!
(Windows 2000 SP4 IE 6 with all the patches under the windows update page)
