IE Homepage resets – Why?

Every time I restart or reboot my pc (Dell GX200, PIII 866, 128, W98se), my default home page on IE 5.5 resets itself to some odd page as default. I can easily change this in the tools dropdown and hit apply, yet it it seems to be only temp. I try not to shutdown my pc, but it happens sometimes. I am connected to the internet with DSL and have a Linksys router in front. Any thoughts.
