IE link won’t go away

For ? reason, I have a couple of Internet Explorer links that won’t delete. When I attempt to do so, I get an error message such as: “Cannot delete nameoflink: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.”

IE 6.0, Windows XP SP2
