IE7 Error Ocurred Printing after Windows Update

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP SP2.
A few days ago (after having installed it over a year ago) whenever I print I get a dialog box that says “An error ocurred duirng this operation”. At the same time, sound through IE7 (playing videos, etc.) is not working.

The most recent event in my restore was an automatic software update several days ago. I restored to that checkpoint and printing/sound worked again – for a while. I disabled automatic updates and restored – doesn’t work at all.

I tried reinstalling IE7 – will not install.

Mozella Firefox and other programs work fine, so this has something to do with IE7.
