IExplorer problem

I am trying to get to the bottom of a problem I seem to be having with IExplorer. I use to be able to type “Hotmail” in the address bar and the browser would go to http://www.hotmail.com. Well for some reason I can not just type hotmail or yahoo or mtv or anything that the internet should recognize. I now forwarded to some web page called shopnav. I am unable to edit it also. Maybe I am not making myself really clear on this but I can not just type hotmale and then it would normally go to yahoo or google for searches of anything called hotmale or hotmail. Is this confusing? I am confused. Please help.
