IIS Index Server query page config

by younghorses . Updated 25 years ago

I am not a web developer but I have been asked to set up the Windows 2000 IIS Index server on our intranet. I’ve configured the Index server properly and can run a search from the MMC, but I honestly don’t know what sample pages I can use from Win2K server to do a basic search. I have our web site on a separate drive from the server itself, and whenever I try to point to the ciquery.htm or iisearch.htm files, clicking search only gives me a text file.

Any ideas? I am not in the know about web servers and would like some specific info on what files are needed to run the sample search in a browser and what I need to change in those files to point to the catalog I’ve set up.

Sorry so long. Thank you so much in reply.
