infrared port

I have Dell Insprion with W2k professional in it.
I can’t get my infrared port work as far as configuration, I try to make it work with HP printer 2200 with infrared port on it.
the infrared port driver seems to be loaded seen from device manager,
but I don’t know what else I need to configure to get it work.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
