INSTALLATION PROBLEMS ON A COMPAQ DESKPRO EP SERIES

When running windows setup the following error occurs:-

1 If it is windows 98, when scandisk is checking the drive (C) it freezes on FILE ALLOCATION TABLE.

2 If it is Win2K or WinXP the PC just hangs when loading the WINDOWS EXECUTIVE MANAGER.

NB. The PC is a Compaq Deskpro EP Series. If I reset the BIOS/CMOS, the PC won’t give me an option to go into the BIOS (f10) until I press Esc + F2. It also comes up with an error saying an add-in card is not functioning properly.

Your help guys will be greatly appreciated becuse thie PC has been sitting in my workshop for sometime now
