Intenet Explorer 6 not working

On my win 98 se machince i revently downloaded and installed IE 6 after that whenever i open any page it gives the following massege:
“Internet Explorer cannot open the search page”

It was working fine with IE 5 and also it is working fine if I boot through windows 2000.

Do i have to remove IE 6 if yes how and how to install IE 5 again on win 98se.

What might be the problem and how to solve it ?
