Inter Domain Trust

We have a broken two way interdomain trust which I am unable to re-establish because I get the message that the user account already exists when I try to re-establish it.
The trust stopped working so we broke both ends and re-synched the domains atboth ends. When I try to re-establish them it gives me the user error. I know it creates a hidden user account but I thought that it would be cleaned up when we broke the trusts and let it sync up.Any help wouldd be greatly appreciated.
