Intermittent file access delays

We are getting intermittent delays in file open or save. Even small files might take 10 seconds to load and meanwhile Word just sits there. This is not the network’s fault since it happens locally on the file server too. Win2000 server with 2G memory and 3 users….

Any ideas appreciated.
