I’ve been looking at DVD drives to install into
my PC (PIII, W98SE), and am getting more
than a little confused by what’s on offer !
My requirements are not particularly onerous –
data and music back-up, and copying movies
and games. I don’t think I need a dual-layer
writer, but would like the flexibility of -R/-RW
and +R/+RW, which also appears to give the
less expensive option for writing media.
I was looking at reviews of the NEC ND-
2500A, which seemed to fit the bill, but then
discovered that the reviews were over a year
old, so guess the technology has leapt
forward since then !
Can anyone advise what models of internal
drives I should be considering that will work
satisfactorily on my (old) PC, with the sort of
usage I envisage ?
