internet access

I have a Dell Dimension 4550 with Win XP, V92 modem. Is there any way to use a dial up IPS on a digital network. I have COX cable phone lines. Dell says their modems don’t support digital and Cox says I have to change the modulation in modem properties of which is greyed. Is there a modem/setting????
