Internet Explorer 6.0 under XP not work

I often get kicked out of Internet Explorer (IE) 6.0 SP1 under XP when a second IE window opens. The eroor message says that Internet Explorer has encountered an error and when I click on the details, the info provided does not seem relevant. I hadAdaware on my system, but I then deleted it because I thought that was causing the problem. But the problem persists. I have also re-installed XP and IE 6.0 SP1 but I still have the same problem. Any advice?
